How to Check If an Amazon Deal Is Real
Not every “80% off” badge on Amazon reflects an actual price drop. Here’s a quick way to check before you buy.
1. Check the price history
Use a price-tracking extension or site to see whether the “before” price was ever actually charged, or if it’s just a listed MRP nobody paid.
2. Read the most recent reviews
A sudden batch of 5-star reviews right before a “deal” can be a red flag for a manipulated listing.
3. Confirm the coupon or bank offer still applies
Coupons expire and bank offers are often capped to a certain number of redemptions per card — check the fine print on the product page itself, not just the deal post.
4. When in doubt, wait a day
If a deal looks too good, it’s usually still there (or close to it) the next day. Genuine loot deals sell out; inflated ones don’t.
